Nohonani sits Oceanfront Between Ka’anapali and Kapalua
Nohonani is 28 units in two four-story buildings linked by walkways on each level. It is set on a compact oceanfront lot in Honokowai; the quiet residential stretch of West Maui coast between Ka’anapali and Kapalua where the resorts thin out and the condos face the water without much between you and the channel.
The property has 22 two-bedroom and 6 one-bedroom units ranging from roughly 596 to 1,082 square feet, most with direct ocean views of Molokai and Lanai from private lanais.
The defining feature is the small sandy beach directly in front of the property — a rarity on this part of the coast, where most oceanfront complexes sit above rocky shoreline.
Hawaiian green sea turtles rest along the beach, and the calm waters make for easy wading and snorkeling in the right conditions.
A heated oceanfront pool sits between the buildings and the water, with gas BBQ grills poolside for cooking with the ocean as the backdrop.
While Nohonani is situated right on the water, beach sizes in Maui are prone to seasonal shifts and tide changes.
AC offerings vary by unit. Free parking is included (one vehicle per unit, parking pass required). No resort fees.
Honokowai Beach Park is a short walk south — a small sandy spot with calm waters, tidepools, a shaded playground, and picnic tables under the trees. Times Supermarket and local cafés are within a few minutes’ drive for groceries and morning coffee. Ka’anapali Beach and Whalers Village are about ten to fifteen minutes south.
Kapalua Resort is roughly ten minutes north for championship golf and fine dining. During whale season (December through April), humpbacks pass through the Maui–Molokai channel close enough to watch from the pool deck.
Maui’s west side offers some of the island’s best beaches, from Napili Bay to Kapalua Bay and beyond.
Every reservation at Nohonani includes free daily activities through our Xplorie partnership and the MPP Starter Kit: starter toiletries, paper goods, and dishwasher detergent — plus beach towels, beach chairs, and a cooler for your stay.
