Lahaina Shores: Direct Oceanfront in Lahaina
Lahaina Shores sits directly at the sand line on the southern shoreline of Lahaina, occupying one of the most unique oceanfront locations on Maui’s west coast. Set apart from the larger resort zones farther north, the property combines direct shoreline access with panoramic channel views and a setting deeply connected to Lahaina’s oceanfront history and harbor culture, with a heated pool and hot tub at the shore, ocean or mountain views from higher floors and a set of practical amenities built for low-key island stays.
The condos Maui Paradise Properties manages at Lahaina Shores are a thoughtfully kept mix of remodeled studios and one-bedroom penthouse layouts, sleeping two to four guests depending on the unit. Each one we manage has central air conditioning throughout, ceiling fan, a fully equipped kitchen, smart streaming TVs, and either a queen, king or a king-plus-sleeper-sofa setup. Some lanais face the ocean for panoramic, west-facing sunsets; others face the mountains for the green ridges of West Maui’s interior. View orientation, bedroom count, and floor are details our team can match to your trip — let us know what your perfect Maui experience looks like, and we’ll point you to the right unit. Every reservation at Lahaina Shores includes free daily Xplorie activities and the MPP Starter Kit.
The resort’s laundry is a credit-card-operated washer and dryer on each floor near the elevator, not in-unit, and parking is on-site at $15 per day, paid to the front desk at check-in. Resort amenities include a heated oceanfront swimming pool and hot tub, gas BBQ grills, a grassy lounge area, in-building elevators, a 24-hour front desk, and 24-hour security. Green sea turtles and endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals visit the shores outside the resort often (enjoy quick viewing from a distance), and from December through April, the channel very close offshore brings humpback whale activity close enough to watch from your lanai.
Lahaina Shores also occupies one of the most unique locations on Maui’s west coast — set along the shoreline at the southern edge of Lahaina, where oceanfront living meets one of Hawaiʻi’s most culturally and historically significant communities. The area remains deeply rooted in Maui’s history, from its days as the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom to its longstanding connection to the ocean and harbor below the West Maui Mountains.
Most guests use Lahaina Shores as a quieter base and drive north for dining and beach days shopping— Kaʻanapali, Whalers Village, and the broader Kaʻanapali Resort area sit a short 5-10 min drive up the coast for fuller dining, beach shopping, and activity options. While there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance of the resort, Lahaina Shores offers a peaceful retreat by the sea with easy access to the ½ mile mild to no wave beach running directly in front of the resort.
Close by (2 minutes drive or 15 min walk), MALA Ocean Tavern, HONU Oceanside and Aloha Mixed Plate near Mala Wharf are fan favorites for locals and visitors alike. Directly across the street is the Cannery Mall which has grocery, Starbucks, clothing, rentals for ocean use, pharmacy and food trucks with excellent foods ranging from Sushi, Mexican, Thai and mediterranean cuisine all are surrounding a large eating area to watch Super sized TV special events with tourists and locals. Smaller shops including art galleries, banks, ice cream, hardware, coffee shops and convenience items. Our 2026 Lahaina Updates blog covers more on what’s open, new, and returning to Lahaina.
Lahaina is continuing its healing journey, and the most welcome guests are those who arrive with care, patience, and respect for the community (known as PONO in hawaiian) — supporting local restaurants and businesses where we can, and giving the surrounding recovery areas the space and dignity they need.
