Keawakapu: Renovated 2BR Steps from the Kihei–Wailea Beach Line
Keawakapu Beach is the half-mile arc of white sand where Kihei eases into Wailea — a quieter stretch favored by morning swimmers, sunset walkers, and the regular honu sightings along the shoreline.
The condo Maui Paradise Properties manages at Keawakapu (unit 208) sits across the street and a three-minute walk from that shoreline, in a small building tucked back behind a nature preserve so the road noise doesn’t reach the lanai.
The building is small with no resort fee— note that there is no resort pool — which is the trade you make for a renovated condo on one of South Maui’s best beaches at a price that doesn’t read like Wailea.
The unit we manage at Keawakapu is a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom layout running about 806 square feet and sleeping up to four. The primary bedroom has a king bed; the guest bedroom has a queen; a sleeper sofa in the living room flexes the count when needed.
The kitchen was renovated with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and maple cabinets, with a dishwasher and bar seating for two; the bathroom has a walk-in shower; porcelain flooring runs through the unit, and the design leans on local artwork. Smart TVs with Roku streaming (no cable) sit in the living room and primary bedroom, and the lanai has outdoor seating for two with ocean and Haleakala views.
A few practical details worth knowing before you book: Ceiling fans run throughout, supplemented by the steady trade-wind cross-breeze. Laundry is handled by on-site coin-operated washer/dryer (no in-unit W/D). And the unit’s front door is reached by one flight of stairs, though the lanai itself sits on the ground level at the back lawn — worth noting for anyone with mobility considerations.
On the property side, Keawakapu keeps things simple: on-site parking included with the stay, no resort fees, and that quick walk across the road to the beach.
The Kihei Boat Launch sits directly across from the property — boats for select snorkel trips and other tours depart from here. During humpback whale season (December through April) the channel between Maui and Kahoʻolawe brings whales close to the South Maui coast, and Keawakapu Beach is a known shore-watch spot.
Wailea’s resort dining and shops sit a 5–10 minute drive south; broader Kihei dining is a 5–10 minute drive north. The Maui Ocean Center in Maʻalaea is a short drive up the coast — a useful rainy-day or family option, and the same harbor where most Molokini snorkel boats depart.
