Whale season is in full effect here on Maui and the annual Maui Whale Festival, presented by Pacific Whale Foundation, kicks off in February. The highly-anticipated Sentry Tournament of Champions will be held January 3rd through 6th at the legendary Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort on Maui. The annual tournament serves as the calendar-year opening tournament of golf’s PGA Tour season. It is unique in that its qualified field features a winners-only format – only champions from the 2018 PGA TOUR are eligible to compete.

Local Top Chef alum Sheldon Simeon has opened his newest highly anticipated restaurant, Lineage, at the Shops of Wailea. The 80-seat restaurant, which opened in October, highlights local Hawaiian cuisine in a modern way. The restaurant describes Lineage as coming “from a place in the past – a place where everyone gathered around and shared together the food that was laid out in front of them – food that is from the heart and filled with memories. Dishes will pay homage to those who inspire Chef Sheldon, and will celebrate his familial roots (or Lineage), as well as the vast bounty of the islands.”
